Collagen type II drops for dogs and cats
Colla-Vet drops are a unique dietary supplement for healthy joints. Colla-Vet is a result of Swedish research to ensure that collagen is of high purity and that it retains its natural three-dimensional structure, that it is is not denatured. In addition, we ensure that the collagen protein retains its glycosylated form - that is it the collagen protein has a sugar bound to it. The fact that it is not denatured and that is glycosylated is important so that collagen type II is not broken down in the gastrointestinal tract before it is absorbed and recognized by the body's cells. Colla-Vet is given in liquid form and is easy to dispense.
WHY IS
COLLA-VET UNIQUE?
Colla-Vet drops are a dietary supplement to prevent sore and stiff joints in dogs and cats of all sizes. Colla-Vet contains collagen type II which is the dominant substance in the animals' articular cartilage where it forms a network of fibers that are important for the function of the joints by reduce the friction between the moving parts of the joints and by protecting the underlying bone.
Unlike dietary supplements with hydrolyzed collagen type II, Colla-Vet's collagen type II retains its original intact form. Through our unique testing method, our collagen is also quality controlled to ensure that it is glycosylated. Research has shown that glycosylated collagen type II is important for it to be biologically active (see references below).
Colla-Vet contains only collagen type II and not supplemented with vitamin C as in the human dietary supplements. The reason for this is that, unlike humans, dogs and cats produce their own vitamin C and therefore may risk an overdose of vitamin C if it is given as a supplement.
